Gayane Gasparyan was born in Yerevan, on December 24, 1954. In 1972 she entered Yerevan State Pedagogic Institute of Russian and Foreign Languages after V. Brusov, Faculty of the English Language, which she graduated from in 1976 with honours and started her pedagogic career at the same Institute. In 1977 she was enrolled in scientific research course of Moscow State Pedagogic Institute of Foreign Languages after Moris Torez at the Chair of English Language Stylistics. In 1980 she was enrolled in the post-graduate course at the same Institute, and in 1984 acquired PhD. degree. In 2010 she received the title of Doctor of Philology.
Since 1984 Gayane Gasparyan has been working at Yerevan State Linguistic university after V. Brusov, first as a lecturer, then Associate Professor /since 1993/, Head of the English Language Chair /1992-2003/. In 1997-2007 Gayane Gasparyan was the vice-rector for education at Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov.
Gayane Gasparyan has been the Rector of Yerevan Bryusov State Linguistic University since June 2012.
Gayane Gasparyan gives lectures on Discourse and Discourse Analysis, Cognitive Aspect of Text/Discourse Analysis, Text Linguistics, Modern English Stylistics, British Studies, UK History.
Gayane Gasparyan is author to more than 75 scientific articles, school and university textbooks. Secondary school textbooks from 3rd to 9th grades were created under her supervision. She is also a co-author to these textbooks as well as author to all the teachers’ manuals. A large number of post-graduates have defended and are working on their scientific theses under her supervision.
Gayane Gasparyan was a member of RA Young Scientists Association, Association of University Women of Armenia, Foreign Language Specialists Association, a member of American Biographical Institute Governing Board of Editors, EU Tempus Academic Expert for JEP (2002 – 2006). Currently she is a board member of the 009 Specialized Research Council of Germanic Languages, 056 Specialized Research Council of Slavic Languages, of the English Language Methodological Council of the RA Ministry of Education and Science, vice-president of the AASE (Member Association of the European Society for the Study of English, Armenian Branch), an expert at Armenian National Quality Assurance Agency. She has been involved in various international education projects as National Coordinator and Foreign Project Director. 
In 1998 Gayane Gasparyan was granted the title of “Woman of the Year” by American Biographical Institute. In 2005 she acquired Certificate of Honor from the RA President for Contribution to RA Education Progress. She has a great number of Certificates of Honor from the RA Ministry of Education for Contribution to RA Education Progress.
