Education in RA
The educational system of the RA reflects the nation's conventional attitude towards education, current socio-economic and education-related issues, as well as the participants’ role in education management. It aims to provide quality education in the RA via compliance with international standards and international labor market requirements, economic growth and public welfare.

Nevertheless, the RA educational system is not altogether without problems, preconditioned by such factors as lack of opportunities for independent development and funding prior to the RA independence, as well as the harsh socio-economic conditions, currently underway to be improved. Thus, the RA government attaches great importance to high level specialist knowledge and skills, their compliance to international employment market requirements and standards, advanced knowledge and skills on behalf of educational managers, as well as their capacity for efficient policy development.

In recent years a range of reformative programs have been developed and implemented, aiming to grant autonomy to educational institutions, provide them with financial, material and technical resources, develop and launch new educational programs to meet the learners’ needs.

The current RA education system comprises the following levels:
  • preschool (kindergartens)
  • general secondary education (primary, secondary or basic and high schools)
  • pre-vocational, vocational and higher education
  • postgraduate education
  • institutions of specialists’ re-qualification and professional development
  •  institutions, offering educational and assessment services

The RA educational institutions face some essential issues such as the establishment of students’ personality and scientific outlook, enhancement of one’s life and professional skills, ensuring a conscious choice of a professional orientation, and all of the above mentioned provided in the context of relevant content-based educational programs, with effective methods applied. It is also noteworthy that non-governmental preschool institutions, schools, colleges, universities and other non-governmental educational establishments, acting on the territory of Armenia and included in the framework of non- governmental educational institutions, not only ensure the existence of an educational service market but also have a great impact on the development of educational system.

The RA education which has been a very important factor for the nation’s autonomy and existence at all times nowadays tops the list of the annually improving educational systems. The educational progress depends both on the government support and the society's clear comprehension of its role and importance.
